Princess Tamara Laura Czartoryski-Borbon was born in 1978 the daughter of Prince Adam Karol Czartoryski, cousin of King Juan Carlos I, King of Spain.   Her mother was born in Cairo, but quickly settled in London after being spotted by a model agent on Chelsea’s Kings Road.  She continued modelling while building a career in public relations for feature films.

Tamara left school at the age of fifteen to pursue a career in show jumping, for which she has an absolute passion. Working as a groom she lived with her trainer’s family and spent her time training and travelling to compete in national and international competitions.  

In 1998 she decided that she wanted to finish her education and gained a place at Emerson College in Boston Massachusetts, where she majored in film and television production and minored in psychology. In the evenings, she studied acting at the renowned Harrison Project.

Most recently, Tamara participated in last years “The Games” (March 2005), the Channel 4 show where ten celebrities compete against each by participating in Olympic style events such as weight lifting, gymnastics and diving. Tamara claimed third position and a bronze medal. Being a keen sportswoman she rejoined the show this year (March 2006) to take part in their ‘Champion Of Champions’ where previous medal winners compete to be overall winner.  She has also kept up her keen interest in show jumping, appearing as the expert in Channel 4's Faking It in February 2004.

Tamara’s television career has not only been confined to the UK.  She co-hosted American Princess for NBC in June 2005, six episodes of a project mixing elements of Cinderella and My Fair Lady. Six ordinary American girls are sent to England to participate in a royalty boot camp with experts Paul Burrell, and James Whittaker.

An Ambassador for the Wildlife Heritage Foundation, Tamara is also actively involved in the family business helping to run their privately owned The Czartoryski Museum which boasts some of the worlds finest art collections including Da Vinci’s ‘Lady with an Ermine’.

Along with Harry Connick, Jr, Tamara is currently an Ambassador for Elegance for Swiss Longines Watches and has recently (April 2006) appeared in a series of images for Harpers.  She also lends her equestrian expertise to the Longines Royal International Horse Show.
